Dynagas LNG Partners Eyes USD 55 Million from Share Offering
Owner and operator of natural gas carriers Dynagas LNG Partners LP is about to raise a total of USD 55 million from the public offering of its shares.
The company revealed that 2,200,000 of its 8.75% Series B shares Fixed to Floating Rate Cumulative Redeemable Perpetual Preferred Units, were priced at USD 25 per unit.

Fuel Spills from Grounded Offshore Supply Vessel near Louisiana
Around 1,000 gallons (3,785 litres) of diesel fuel are estimated to have spilled into the marine environment from the grounded offshore supply vessel Candy Store.
The 145-foot offshore supply vessel Candy Store, operated by Lousiana-based Candy Fleet LLC, ran aground north of Monkey Island, near Cameron, Louisiana, on Tuesday, October 16.

Cargill Exercises Options for Two More Baby-Capes
CSSC Leasing, a division of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), has exercised an option for two more baby-cape newbuildings at CSSC s Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, which are intended for Cargill.
A spokesperson of the Geneva-based freight trader confirmed to World Maritime News that the additional ships have been ordered.

Second Round of Cargo Smouldering on board MV Liangchow
A second round of cargo smouldering was reported aboard the Hong Kong-flagged bulk carrier MV Liangchow during the discharge of coal in the Port of Auckland, New Zealand, the China Navigation Company (CNCo), the owner of the vessel, confirmed to World Maritime News.
As a result, the ship s crew issued another call for assistance to New Zealand s firefighters in the early hours of October 17, 2018.

Freighter out of control in marina, damaged and sunk 7 boats, France
General cargo ship MAESTRO in full load, on arrival from Italy, suffered a blackout while maneuvering to dock at St. Louis du Rhone, France, in marina area, in the morning Oct 16. Disabled ship collided with 7 boats and yachts in the marina. 2 boats were crashed and sank, 2 or 3 people were slightly injured. Pier also sustained damages, no information on MAESTRO damages yet, but on photo dents or holes can be seen in portside bow area. The ship was berthed with the help of tugs. Photos France Bleu.

Cargo Smoldering Contained on Board Coal Carrier in Auckland
Firefighters were called to douse smouldering of cargo on board a coal carrier moored at Freyberg wharf, Auckland, New Zealand, on October 15, Auckland City Fire Area informed.
Based on the images released by the firefighters on social media, the smoke was emanating from one of the cargo holds, but there was no flame to be reported.

Wartsila Opens World s 1st International Maritime Cyber Center of Excellence in Singapore.
Finnish-based technology group Wartsila opened an International Maritime Cyber Centre of Excellence (IMCCE) on 17 October in Singapore. The IMCCE consists of a Maritime Cyber Emergency Response Team (MCERT) and a cyber academy, and it is first of its kind in the world.

APM Terminals to Sell Container Terminal in Izmir
Maersk s APM Terminals has reached agreement to divest its container terminal in Izmir, Turkey to its current partner State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).
As part of the sales agreement, APM Terminals will continue managing the terminal. In the new structure, operating company Petlim will be fully owned by SOCAR Turkey, and managed by APM Terminals.

Monaco-based dry bulk shipping company Scorpio Bulkers has inked time charter-out agreements with undisclosed companies for seven Ultramax and four Kamsarmax vessels.
The Ultramaxes in question are SBI Jaguar, SBI Ursa, SBI Tango, SBI Cougar, SBI Echo, SBI Thalia and SBI Lyra.

S. Korea eyes development of port in Russian Far East
South Korea s oceans ministry said it will look into the feasibility of developing a port in Russia s Far East to help local companies take advantage of its strategic location.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries said it will carry out the feasibility study until September 2019 on the Port of Slavyanka, which borders North Korea and China.
