Capesize bulk carrier HARVEST SKY troubled again and drifted back to Taiwan
Capesize bulk carrier HARVEST SKY after refloating was towed to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, for offloading her cargo of coal. Vessel sustained some serious propulsion failure, requesting repairs, and remained disabled since the time of initial accident. After offloading, bulk carrier was to be towed to mainland China, understood to Zhoushan area, for repairs. Towage commenced on Oct 31, according to AIS track. Early in the morning Nov 3 HARVEST SKY broke off towing line in rough weather in the northern Taiwan Strait, and started to drift back to Taiwan, driven by strong northeast wind. Hapless vessel drifted some 130 nm through most of Taiwan Strait, until finally, managed to anchor some 7 nm of Taixi, Yunlin, central Taiwan, early in the morning Nov 6. Not clear what salvage company is to tow HARVEST SKY to mainland China, old one, or another?

Tanker grounding, North Carolina USA
Chemical tanker SWAN BISCAY ran aground at around 1230 LT Nov 4 at Southport, North Carolina, USA, after propulsion failure. Tanker was en route from Wilmington N.C. to Savannah. She was refloated some 5 hours later, and brought to anchor on outer anchorage, apparently for survey. As of 0430 UTC Nov 5, she was still at anchor. No information on damages, no leak reported. Iranian 5000-TEU container ship crashed into island, Hong Kong, residents fear fire
Iranian container ship TOUSKA ran aground at around 1315 UTC Nov 5, the ship literally crashed into eastern tip of Magazine island, South Horizon, Hong Kong. Residents of South Horizon were alerted by crashing noise, watching sparks from bow’s collision with ground. According to residents, there may be fire on board of TOUSKA, there’s smell of something burning in the air.
