Monjasa Supplies 1st VLSFO in Lome, Expands West African Footprint
Danish bunker company Monjasa has completed its first ship-to-ship (STS) supply of the very low sulfur fuel oil (VLSFO) in Lome, Togo.
The STS operation was carried out by the company s tanker African Runner on October 21, 2019, and involved the supply of a total of 200mts VLSFO.
The company is currently enabling the IMO 2020 transition by making new low-sulphur marine fuel available across the West African region.Posted On:9-Nov-2019

Singapore Ship Registry Reaches 95 Million GT Milestone
The Singapore Registry of Ships (SRS) has crossed the 95 million gross ton (GT) milestone, maintaining its position among the top five registries in the world.
This was unveiled on November 8 by Quah Ley Hoon, Chief Executive of the Maritime And Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) during the SRS Forum in Singapore.

Port of Durban welcomes first vessel on new MIAX service
This week Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) and Transnet Ports Terminals (TPT), through the Port of Durban, welcomed the first vessel to arrive at the port on the new MIAX (Middle East-India-Africa Express) service recently introduced by Hapag-Lloyd and its alliance partner, Ocean Network Express (ONE).
The container vessel, MV NEW JERSEY TRADER, was welcomed into port on 5 November with a ceremonial tug spray and plaque exchange. The vessel was built in 2011 and flies the flag of Malta.Posted On:9-Nov-2019

Indian, Thailand ports trusts sign three MoUs to reduce sea travel time
Three agreements have been signed between Ranong Port (Thailand) and port trusts of Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Kolkata, with an aim to reduce sea travel time between the two countries to more than a half.

CMA Terminals (CMAT), a subsidiary of world leader in maritime transport CMA CGM, in connection with the subconcession from Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited (LPLEL) to a dedicated subsidiary controlled by CMAT of the container terminal operations of the Lekki Deep Sea Port that LPLEL is developing in the Lagos Free Trade Zone, Lagos State, Nigeria. Energy Transfer expects supertanker facility to be in service by early 2023
Energy Transfer LP said discussions with potential shippers to build an offshore crude export facility in Texas capable of handling supertankers were progressing on schedule, with the project expected to be in service by late 2022 or early 2023.

Centre ready to build major port in Andhra Pradesh
An MoU was signed with IIT-Kharagpur to set up a Rs 1,000 crore ship design and model testing centre to give a fillip to shipbuilding industry in the country, Union Minister of State for Shipping Mansukh L Mandaviya said here on Thursday.
