Pavilion Energy Conducts Singapore s First STS LNG Bunkering
Pavilion Energy said it has performed the first commercial ship-to-ship LNG bunkering in the Port of Singapore.
The operation comprised a reload of 2,000 m3 of LNG onto a small-scale tanker at the newly-modified Secondary Jetty of the Singapore LNG (SLNG) Terminal, followed by a ship-to-ship transfer to the receiving heavy-lift commercial vessel.
"Pavilion Energy s first commercial ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operations in Singapore demonstrates our strong commitment and capability to deliver a comprehensive suite of LNG bunker supply solutions to Singapore and the region," Frederic H. Barnaud, Group CEO of Pavilion Energy, said.
"As the world’s largest bunkering port, Singapore is committed to provide a range of bunkering solutions to meet the future energy needs of the global shipping industry," Quah Ley Hoon, Chief Executive of MPA, said.
Pavilion Energy demonstrated its truck-to-ship bunkering capabilities in 2017, and further expanded its bunker logistics with the charter of its first LNG bunker vessel newbuild in February 2019.
The 12,000 m3 GTT Mark III Flex membrane LNG bunker vessel is set for delivery by 2021, and is the largest of its kind set for use in the Port of Singapore to date, the company concluded.

RCL Unveils Financial Impact from Oasis of the Seas Incident
A crane incident involving the cruise ship Oasis of the Seas in the Grand Bahama Shipyard would impact Royal Caribbean Cruises 2019 earnings.
The Miami-based cruise major has updated its full year adjusted EPS guidance to a range of USD 9.65 to USD 9.85 per share, which includes negative impacts of USD 0.25 related to the incident and around USD 0.25 as a result of a stronger dollar and higher fuel prices versus the January guidance.
The company unveiled the expected impact as part of its first quarter of 2019 financial report, adding that its net income for the quarter increased to USD 249.7 million from a net income of USD 218.7 million reported a year earlier. The improvement was mainly driven by increased revenue from the company s global brands.
"We are very pleased to report another record-breaking quarter and to be driving towards record earnings for the year," Jason T. Liberty, executive vice president and CFO, said.
Gross yields were up 10.8% and net yields increased by 9.3% in constant-currency, higher than the January guidance due to better than anticipated demand for onboard experiential products and activities as well as strong close in demand.
"Net revenue yields in the first quarter beat our previous guidance and are expected to do so for the rest of the year as well. Overall, the company s booked position remains at a record level in both rate and volume," the company said.
Additionally, better than expected performance below the line, mainly due to better than expected performance from the company s joint ventures, contributed to the first quarter s positive performance.
To remind, Royal Caribbean s Oasis of the Seas was undergoing maintenance at the Grand Bahama Shipyard when the accident involving the drydock caused two construction cranes to collapse on the stern of the ship on April 1, 2019.
"The damage to the ship was extensive and the ship had to go to a dock in Europe for repairs. As a result, the ship was taken out of service for almost a month and is expected to return back to service for its normally scheduled May 5, 2019 sailing," Royal Caribbean said.

Pirates abduct Indian seafarers from merchant ship in Nigeria
Pirates have abducted five Indian seafarers after taking their ship MT Apecus at Bonny Outer anchorage in Nigeria. The families of the abducted sailors in India have no clue for the last 13 days as to where they are.
It was only on Wednesday that the High Commission of India in Abuja, Nigeria, responded to the family of a sailor about the issue. Bhagyasree Das of Odisha, wife of Sudeep Kumar Choudhury, a 3rd officer in Merchant Navy has tweeted to union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) asking to rescue her husband.
"Mission is in very close touch with Nigerian Navy and police for the last 10 days as per SOP. Concerned parties have made initial contact. Caution is of utmost importance for everyone's safety," the High Commission of India in Abuja said in response to Bhagyasree Das seeking early intervention. It is already more than 12 days and yet no exact updates on how and where they are. When can we talk with our family members? All the families are eagerly waiting to listen to their voice. I am eagerly waiting to hear my husband’s voice,” Bhagyashree said in response to the High Commission providing the information it had.
According to a media reports emanating from Nigeria, pirates had attacked the product tanker and kidnapped six crew members, including the Indian seafarers. The Nigerian Navy was notified and an investigation was being conducted into the abduction.
The Palau-flagged oil products tanker 'MT Apecus' is said to manage by Petronav Carriers. According to the IMB Piracy Reporting Centre, the incident occurred at Bonny Outer Anchorage, Nigeria. "An anchored tanker was boarded by unauthorised persons who kidnapped six crew and escaped. The remaining crew reported safe. Nigerian navy notified and investigations are ongoing," the centre said in a report.
The ship in recent months had traded between Tema Ghana, Lome Togo, and Logos and had arrived at Bonny anchorage from Lagos. The Automatic Identification System (AIS) of the ship was switched off.
There had been another instance of an attempt by pirates to get into a ship in the Bonny river area but they were unsuccessful because of the intervention of Nigerian Naval guards who were said to have engaged with them.
Capt Sanjay Parashar, chairman of International Maritime Federation told TOI that he was in touch with the families of the seafarers who had been abducted in Nigeria to provide them with all the assistance that was required.
