AMSA Bans Cargo Ship from Australian Ports
The Philippines-flagged cargo ship Thorco Luna has been banned from Australian ports after it was detained for the third time this year for consistently failing to meet international standards. Rotterdam Will Be LNG Bunkering Port for New ULCVs
French container shipping major CMA CGM revealed plans to use Rotterdam as a primary LNG bunkering port once it takes delivery of its new ultra large container vessels (ULCVs) by 2020. Russian ferry PETERSBURG arrested in Estonia Update
Russian rail ferry PETERSBURG was arrested at Estonian port Paljasaare for debts, including crew wages debts, reported Russian news agency SPUTNIK on Jun 8. Ferry is docked at Paljasaare, Tallinn, since late April, she s undergoing repairs. Estonian suppliers sued owner for outstanding debts totaling 350,000 euro, plus some 30,000 euro wages debt. Hyundai Heavy Seeks USCG BWMS Type Approval
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Marine Safety Center (MSC) has received its fifteenth application for type approval for a ballast water management system (BWMS). The HiBallast BWMS has been manufactured by South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean Adds New RoRo Ship
Shipping firm Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean has expanded its fleet with the Neo-Panamax vessel MV Titus, capable of carrying 8,000 cars.
Built at China s CSIC Xingang shipyard, MV Titus is the first of a series of four Post-Panamax vessels with a combined capacity of 32,000 CEU. The second vessel in the series is expected to enter service later this year and two are scheduled for delivery in 2019.Posted On:11-Jun-2018

International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) has taken delivery of three new cranes for its flagship Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), beefing up its capacity to handle the world s largest container ships.

Cargo traffic at Major Ports grow 2.41%
The top 12 major ports in the country recorded 2.41 per cent growth in cargo handling at 116.26 million tonne (MT) in the first two months of the current fiscal, the shipping ministry said.
