Celebrity Edge crew members Rajiv and Venita decided they were not going to let COVID-19 ruin their special day, after their wedding in Mauritius was cancelled.
Instead, the two were joined by family and friends via Zoom for a special wedding on board Celebrity Edge, with fellow crew members setting up handmade decorations and recreating the couple’s dream wedding cake.
The ceremony took place in the Eden dining room with the ships insta-famous captain Kate McCue officiating and Bug Naked (McCue’s also insta-famous cat) as ring bearer.

India: Lockdown 5.0 � Beaching of ships with foreign crew will be allowed - Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide
Authorities in Alang, now permit the beaching of vessels with foreign crew provided that there exists a valid letter of permission signed by the Ministry of External Affairs. This letter records all necessary information about the foreign crew so when possible, they can be sent to their homeland on priority basis.
It takes 4 to 5 working days to avail this letter from the Ministry.
Recently three vessels have arrived in Alang with foreign seafarers. To avoid risks, all standard operating procedures in relation to quarantine were followed. We assume that many more vessels will head to Alang for their recycling now, specifically owned by shipping companies that sell their assets to only HKC compliant yards.Posted On:3-Jun-2020

India: Maritime bodies to fly seafarers back home, to foreign ports;Chartered flight to Doha on June 3 - Outlook India
To help Indian seafarers battling tough times amid COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown, leading maritime bodies have joined hands to transport them across the globe through chartered flights facilitating them to reach cargo vessels at foriegn ports or back home.
The first such chartered flight carrying 150 seafarers will depart from New Delhi to Doha on Wednesday, as per maritime bodies MASSA and FOSMA that said plans are also afoot to operate such chartered flights from other airports to various maritime destinations across the globe.
"MASSA and FOSMA will now operate four chartered flights to help those Indian seafarers who are keen on boarding vessels at foreign ports. Also these chartered flights will help Indian seafarers come back home from foreign maritime destinations," Maritime Association of Shipowners Shipmanagers and Agents (MASSA) Chief Executive Officer Capt Shiv Halbe told PTI. Indian seafarers lost 2,520 jobs on ships due to Covid induced restrictions on crew change - Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide
Indian seafarers lost some 2,520 jobs on board ships between March 23 and May 30 as the lockdown restrictions imposed by the government to slow the spread of coronavirus derailed crew change plans both in India and overseas.
Between March 23 and May 30, 8,732 Indian seafarers signed off from ships both in India and abroad, while only 6,212 seafarers signed-on, according to the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping), India’s maritime administration.
This implies that 2,520 Indian seafarers lost jobs to other nationalities. Ship management and crewing companies operating out of India make sure that Indian seafarers signing off from ships under their management are replaced by Indian crew during the process of crew change....Posted On:3-Jun-2020

Some crew members from the dock landing ship USS Carter Hall have been in isolation since late last month after testing positive for the coronavirus.
