Maersk Tankers to Equip Four LR2 Ships with Scrubbers
Danish tanker owner and operator Maersk Tankers revealed plans to invest in four scrubbers to be installed on selected long range 2 (LR2) vessels within the company s product tanker fleet.
As informed, one existing LR2 vessel, as well as three LR2 newbuildings within the Maersk Product Tanker fleet will be equipped with scrubbers before January 2020 to comply with the International Maritime Organization s (IMO) sulphur regulation.Posted On:4-Mar-2019

As the industry sails towards the International Maritime Organization s impending sulphur cap regulation, there seems to be a rise in opposition to one of the widely accepted solutions to the 2020 sulphur cap, the open-loop exhaust gas treatment systems (scrubbers).

India committed to invest $500m in Chabahar Port
India Global Ports Limited (IGPL) is committed to investing up to $500m to develop Chabahar Port in southern Iran as part of series of projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars, a senior official said.
