23 Indian seafarers who were stuck at Chinese port lands at Cochin airport
Twenty-three Indian seafarers on the ship, MV Jag Anand, who were stuck at a Chinese port at anchorage for over seven months, have landed in India at the Cochin airport on Wednesday, according to a statement.
The 23 seamen aboard MV Jag Anand were reportedly not allowed by the Chinese authorities to either dock or go for a crew change over coronavirus restrictions.Posted On:22-Jan-2021

Help for seafarers in wilderness of the sea.
The Isle of Man Ship Registry has launched the first seafarer welfare app designed by a flag state. It is available to around 10,000 seafarers sailing on more than 400 vessels under the Manx flag.
Isle of Man Ship Registry director Cameron Mitchell said the app, named Crew Matters , has been developed in partnership with Liverpool-based training company Tapiit Live, which also has an office in the island.Posted On:22-Jan-2021

India: Ports review meeting to deliberate on future action plan
A three-day ports review meeting will be conducted from Thursday 21st to deliberate on a future action plan, including development of satellite ports by all major ports, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said in a statement on Wednesday.
Chairpersons of India's all major ports and senior officials of the ministry will participate in the brainstorming conference to finalise the road map of the "Maritime Vision 2030", the ministry said in the statement.Posted On:22-Jan-2021

Container ship grounding, Mar del Plata, Argentina
Container ship MADRID TRADER ran aground in fairway while entering Mar del Plata Port, Argentina, at around 1830 UTC Jan 20, with pilot on board. Reportedly, the ship grounded on a sandy bottom because of sailboats in the channel, obstructing safe navigation. Cargo ship partially sank after water ingress, Java sea
General cargo ship SATYA BERIAYA suffered water ingress and partially sank, probably resting on bottom, on Jan 20, in Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands, northern Java sea, while en route to Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, with cargo of kaolin.
