Sailor Saves Woman Floating at Sea for Hours

U.S. Western Ports Announce Hefty Fines For Container Unloading Delays
Beginning next week, a fine of 100 U.S. dollars a day per container will be levied against shipping companies that unload cargo too slowly in the two busiest ports in the United States, Port of Los Angeles (POLA) and Port of Long Beach (POLB). The twin ports said in a joint statement Monday that arriving containers scheduled to be moved by trucks would be allowed to stay for nine days before fines begin, and that containers moving by rail can stay at the ports for three days... Danish Frigate Deploys on Anti-Piracy Operation in Gulf of Guinea
The Danish frigate Esbern Snare is en route to the Gulf of Guinea to join the international fight against piracy. Disabled container ship adrift close to Spanish coast, Atlantic
Container ship ELBSKY suffered mechanical failure and was disabled at around 1200 UTC Oct 27 42 nm off Finisterre, Spain, and started to drift towards Spanish coast, while en route from Rotterdam to Lisbon. As of 1430 UTC Oct 28, she was some 12 nm off Finisterre, with Spanish SAR tug DON INDA nearby.
