Container ship sank after collision, dozens of containers lost, Shanghai. Update Nov 27 Update, correction: Container ship name is HUA YUAN 9999, not HUAYUAN999 as was reported on Nov 26. Cargo ship name is PUHUI1. Collision took place in Taicang area, near Shanghai Channel fairway, all traffic was suspended and Taicang port blocked, because of floating containers. Capesize bulk carrier grounding, Australia Bulk carrier MARIA G.O. laden with coal ran aground on East Banks south of Facing Island, Gladstone, Australia, at around 2300 UTC Nov 26, shortly after leaving Gladstone. The ship was refloated about an hour later with the help of some 8 tugs, and brought to anchor for inspection on Gladstone outer anchorage. MARIA G.O. is bound for China. Corpus Christi Gets USD 59 Mn for Ship Channel Deepening The Port of Corpus Christi has secured an additional USD 59 million in funding for the Corpus Christi Ship Channel Improvement Project (CIP).

Bulk carrier destroyed pier, Parana river Bulk carrier NEA TYHI suffered a blackout, went out of control and collided with VITCO Terminal pier in Zarate Port area, River Parana, Argentina, at 1124 LT Nov 25, while proceeding downstream to Bahia Blanca. Pier with cargo equipment were reportedly, almost fully destroyed, the sustained hull damages, seemingly in bow portside area. bulk carrier with some 50000 tons of soybeans on board moved upstream from collision site, and brought to anchor. One crew dead one hospitalized on board of US tanker, Santa Barbara Product tanker LINUS P interrupted her voyage from Long Beach to Astoria, USA, and called Santa Barbara anchorage, requesting medical assistance early in the morning Nov 24. Two crew fell into cargo tank, one died, another one was hospitalized, condition unknown.
