UK launches offshore vessel charging project.
Several offshore renewable energy and marine companies are taking part in a project to explore the viability of offshore vessel charging as part of the industrys efforts to decarbonise vessel operations.

Seafarer training and standards fail to match digital operating environment.
Angus Ferguson, director of Onboard Maritime, highlighted that the industry as whole struggled with the role of the seafarer who today operates in what he described as a "post-digital environment" and technology permeates almost all aspects of live both at work and in leisure.
"The issue we find at the moment is our training has not matched this, our training is analogue at best and we are not preparing seafarers for the environment they are going to be operating in when they are at sea," he stated.Posted On:27-Nov-2020

Container Volume at Incheon Port Hits Record High in October
Container volume at Incheon Port reached 283,858 TEUs in October, a new record for the month of October. The ports container volume has surged to new monthly records for the seven consecutive months since April 2020.
According to Incheon Port Authority (IPA), the October container volume was 3.2 percent up from the all-time October record of 274,956 TEUs set in 2018.Posted On:27-Nov-2020

BIMCOs Shipping Number of the Week.
Record high volumes and freight rates between the Far East and the US West Coast (USWC) have caused a spike in the number of containers leaving the Port of Los Angeles empty in a rush back to the Far East, as freight rates are easily five times higher going from East to West than the other way around. Ghanas Port now a preferred choice of shipping lines.
The Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Michael Luguje has revealed that developments in Ghanas ports have positioned the country at a competitive advantage within the sub-regional shipping subsector.

General cargo ship attacked, Gulf of Guinea, 10 crew kidnapped
10 crew reported kidnapped. Cargo ship was attacked at around 1300 UTC Nov 26 in Nigerian waters, Gulf of Guinea, some 10 nm off Bayelsa State coast. Understood it’s general cargo ship MILAN, en route from Koko Nigeria to Douala Cameroon, ETA Nov 27. The ship stopped and started to drift at night Nov 25, reason unknown. Ultra Large Container Ship ran aground in the morning Nov 26 while transiting Canal in southern direction, near Al Ismailiya.
