General cargo ship HUY HOANG 18 sank in Binh Dinh province waters, central Vietnam, South China sea, at night Dec 10. The ship with some 3,000 tons of coal, 9 crew and 2 passengers on board, was en route from Ho Chi Minh to Haiphong. Reportedly, the ship ran onto small islet some 4 nm off the coast of Phu My district, breaching hull in several places, with ensuing water ingress.
