Kattupalli Port to temporarily shut export gate for ships calling from December 18
Adani Kattupalli Port Pvt Ltd, which runs the Kattupalli port near Chennai, has said it will “temporarily suspend” accepting export containers from vessels calling at the port from December 18.
"In our endeavour to maintain yard inventories within acceptable levels and to ensure vessels are quickly turned around without any delay, we are constrained to temporarily suspend accepting exports for vessels which are expected to call from December 18, commencing with MV X-Press Jersey," Adani Kattupalli Port said in a trade advisory issued on Friday.Posted On:12-Dec-2020

Singapore trialling digital documentation with 2 Chinese ports to cut paperwork
Singapore is currently trialling digital documentation with two ports in China - Qinzhou and Tianjin - to facilitate trade by reducing the amount of paperwork involved in cross-border trade, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said yesterday.
The trials come as part of Singapore s move to build its Networked Trade Platform, which will allow for electronic exchanges of documents needed for import and export, Mr Heng added at a virtual press conference after the 16th Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation between Singapore and China.Posted On:12-Dec-2020

Port congestion presents human capital problem beyond driver dwell times

Dredging spoils transform into new terminal at the Port of Gothenburg
180,000 cubic meters of dredged material are currently being reused as filling material in the construction of the Port of Gothenburgs next major investment. Cargo ship sank after grounding, breached hull, Vietnam
General cargo ship HUY HOANG 18 sank in Binh Dinh province waters, central Vietnam, South China sea, at night Dec 10. The ship with some 3,000 tons of coal, 9 crew and 2 passengers on board, was en route from Ho Chi Minh to Haiphong. Container ship contacted Brunsbuettel lock, damaged, Kiel Canal
Container ship CONMAR BAY, pushed by a strong gust of wind, contacted safety fenders while approaching northern lock at Brunsbuettel, Kiel Canal, completing her southbound transit early in the morning Dec 11.
