India announces sweeping ports sector reforms
Indias maritime sector is set to go through sweeping reforms. The Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Mansukh Mandaviya, hoped these changes will bring more investments.

10 rescued after ship mishap in South China Sea.
Ten crew members have been rescued after abandoning a cargo ship that was listing to one side in the South China Sea, according to the provincial maritime search and rescue center of Hainan.
The center received a report at 5 p.m. Monday that the ship, registered in Sierra Leone and carrying 3,000 tonnes of rice, was listing in waters off the Nansha Islands in the South China Sea, as it made its way from Vietnam to Malaysia.Posted On:23-Dec-2020

More than 100 grains cargo ships delayed by Argentine port workers strike
More than 100 cargo ships were kept from loading agricultural goods in Argentina on Monday, as a wage strike by grains inspectors and oilseed workers stretched into its second week, paralyzing exports from one of the worlds main bread baskets.

No access to port of Rotterdam for passengers from England
With immediate effect, ferries coming to the Netherlands from the United Kingdom are no longer allowed to carry passengers. The ferries are still permitted access to the ports of Rotterdam and IJmuiden with trucks and drivers.

Two Chinese cargo ships troubled in South China sea, one abandoned, sinking
Two Chinese cargo ships are troubled in South China sea off Vietnam coast, product tanker CHEM SINYOO and general cargo ship DONG YANG. CHEM SINYOO issued distress signal at around 1200 LT (UTC +7) Dec 21, reporting engine room accident - 1 crew died, 4 were injured, in need of immediate medical assistance.
