Second batch of Indian seafarers stranded in China to arrive soon
Sixteen Indians stranded in China for six months will reach India in a few days. The crew of MV Anastasia has reached Japan from China and their onwards journey is being planned. Before this on January 20, 23 Indians stranded in China on another ship MV Jag Anand had reached India.
Due to a trade war between China and Australia, more than 50 vessels were stuck on the Chinese sea and were stranded with many Indian crew members on it.Posted On:11-Feb-2021

Three piracy incidents in Singapore Strait in January, all took place off Bintan
Pirates have continued to launch attacks in the Singapore Strait, with three reported incidents last month in the 105km-long stretch of water south of Singapore that serves as a key waterway for trade.

Malaysia: Hearing delayed in crew abandonment case over Xihe Group ship arrest
A Malaysian high court hearing planned to secure the repatriation of 25 seafarers on a Xihe Group-controlled vessel has been delayed by several days.

India: Stevedores face crisis as major port trusts-run berths head for privatisation
Facing a threat to their existence, stevedores and shore handling agents have urged the Ministry of ports, shipping and waterways to re-consider the policy to privatise the cargo terminals at Centre-owned port trusts, that are run by the State.
Stevedores and shore handling agents load and unload bulk cargo from and onto ships from the major port trusts run non-mechanised, common user facilities after buying licenses from the port authorities by paying an annual fee of ₹4,000 to ₹1 lakh depending on the port.Posted On:11-Feb-2021

Japanese bulk carrier seized by migrants in UK UPDATE perpetrators arrested
Japanese bulk carrier on Feb 9 was seized by seven migrants (or stowaways) while being off Portland, UK, English Channel, according to Trade Winds report. Bulk carrier left Rouen France on Feb 8, understood her destination being Portland, though its not confirmed.
