Cocaine suitcases attached to hull of Chilean container ship, Mexico 42 kilos of pure cocaine, packed in two suitcases, were found attached to underwater hull of VLCS CAUTIN at Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico, by Navy divers. Canadian patrol ship returning to port after water ingress Canadian fisheries patrol ship CYGNUS suffered water ingress in the morning Feb 8 in North Atlatic, some 260 nm east of St John s, Newfoundland, while being on patrol mission. Water leaked through propeller shaft, it was decided to return to port. Water ingress was taken under control, water was pumped out and there s no further leak, according to official statement. Russian scientific ship breached in the Antarctic, confusing reports Multi purpose cargo ship IVAN PAPANIN was breached in the Antarctic in heavy ice on Feb 6 or earlier, near Indian Antarctic ice station Bharati, with ensuing water ingress. According to Russian Arctic and Antarctic Institute statement, based on Indian emergency message, all people on board were evacuated, some 100 people, including scientists and crew. According to ship s owner, Murmansk Shipping Company, all people remained on board, the ship contacted underwater object, but managed to get to, and to moor, to an ice pier, water ingress localized and is under control.
