With folded hands, huddled in one of the quarters, the masked crew members requested, "Modiji, we are speaking from Costa Victoria. We are 200 crew members here. Our ship is caught in the middle of the ocean. As some passengers tested positive to Coronavirus, we have been kept in quarantine".

They added, "We are suffering and not able to communicate with our families. Food is being delivered to our cabins and we don t know where we are or where we are headed. Please do some arrangements to evacuate us Indians from this place. We are ready to be quarantined in India if needed. So please help us Modiji."

The video which was released by the group is 7 days ago. The group released yet another video on Monday stating that they cannot release another group video as they are quarantined. Seafarers offer their hosp to fight Covid-19 - Times of India
The Goan Seafarers’ Association of India (GSAI) has written to the National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) to hand over the NUSI hospital at Chinchinim to the state government to be used as a quarantine facility.
In a letter to NUSI general secretary Abdul Ghani Serang, GSAI pointed out that many Goan seafarers stranded on ships overseas are expected to be back in Goa soon, and thus if a quarantine facility is set up at the NUSI hospital, it could benefit the seafarers as well as public.

“A lot of seafarers are stranded in different parts of the world and many are due to be signed off. As the government of Goa has also taken precautionary measures, this will be an additional help. It will be a great help for our community to be isolated in hospital with medical assistance rather than at home,” the letter stated.

GSAI president Frank Viegas told TOI that more than 3,000 Goan seafarers working on cruise lines whose jobs have been terminated or have been signed off following end of contract, who are waiting for repatriation to Goa. “A large number of beds will be required for quarantining these seamen. We urge the government of Goa to be prepared in this situation,” Viegas said.

Secretary Michael Beny Da Costa, in a statement, appealed to all the MLAs to urge the government to bring the stranded Goan seafarers back “as soon as possible before the situation goes out of hand.”

Crew changes the problem of air travel - Seatrade Maritime News
The crew change crisis that has developed with the COVID-19 pandemic will need more than just coordination of port and government authorities with shipowners and managers as there is a huge logistics issue of getting seafarers to the points of embarkation and disembarkation.
The last few weeks have seen a flurry of moves to try and find a solution to a rapidly emerging crew change crisis as countries close borders and bar seafarers from leaving their vessels and undertaking crew changes at key ports. There are calls for seafarers to be internationally recognised as key workers exempting them from travel restrictions and globally coordinated approach to crew changes.

There have been a few positive signs of progress such as the UK recognising seafarers as key workers and Singapore’s announcement that it will allow crew changes in “special circumstances”.

The Singapore move is a typically pragmatic one by the country’s authorities and government which has won global praise for its handling of the pandemic avoiding lock down through a tiered series of measures that are both widely adhered to and strongly enforced.

The crew members from Costa Favolosa and Costa Majica were taken by tender boats to the port of Miami and were put on board buses for Orlando airport in Florida.

The OFWs boarded two Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 777s from Orlando for Manila. The planes had to refuel at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in Africa to be able to continue their flights. Both wide-body jets accommodated more than 300 passengers each.

The Filipino crew members remained on board the two ships while waiting for the charter planes since Sunday.

A crew member medically evacuated from 2 different Royal Caribbean ships, company says - Miami Herald
Two Royal Caribbean crew members — one from the Symphony of the Seas and one from the Oasis of the Seas — were “medically evacuated” from their respective ships Monday at Port Everglades, the cruise line confirmed.

While Royal Caribbean would not confirm whether the members have been diagnosed with COVID-19, a spokesman for the company said the crew members were evacuated “for observation and treatment of respiratory issues.”

Ellen Kennedy at Port Everglades said: “It’s a Coast Guard mission. Port Everglades is not involved.”

The Coast Guard confirmed late Monday that Coast Guard Sector Miami watch standers monitored two medical evacuations, one from each of the cruise ships. “The vessels arranged commercial transfer ashore of each patient for further transportation to local area hospitals,” the Coast Guard said in an email.
