Are You Prepared for a Man-Overboard?
I’ve only experienced one real man-overboard event. Thankfully it was in fair weather in daylight. A guest on the bow stood up and lifted his binoculars to his eyes. He stumbled and fell backwards over the rail where the lifelines sloped down to the bowsprit. We instantly tossed him a couple of throw cushions. As the boat slid by him, he yelled up “I’m OK.” Oddly, he continued to hold the binoculars over his head, so we knew he wasn’t hurt or panicked... -Soundings Magazine

The turtle’s way
There’s many a way to navigate the open sea, even sans GPS or a compass. On a clear night, the prow can be steered according to the North Star. During the day, a keen ornithologist can figure out the directions by looking at the right migratory bird. Even the humble and delicious salmon, as they swim back to where they were born, to reproduce, can theoretically provide both sustenance and guidance to a weary traveller... -The Indian Express

Ship floats near NLL, two-man crew vanishes
An empty ship was found drifting near the Northern Limit Line (NLL), the de facto maritime boarder with North Korea, and the captain and his sole crew member are missing. There were no signs of foul play or abduction by North Korea, and the Coast Guard suspects the captain and crew member might have fallen into the sea during a maintenance activity... -The Korea JoongAng Daily
