Filipino crew members ask court to order cruise line to send them home - Herald-Mail Media Filipino crew members on Royal Caribbean Cruises Celebrity ships are asking a federal judge to order the company to send them home immediately.
In a lawsuit filed in federal court in Miami Thursday, Ryan Maunes Maglana, a Filipino crew member on the Celebrity Millennium ship docked in San Diego, said he and his colleagues have been held against their will without pay for more than two months as the company has repeatedly delayed repatriation plans for them. Several crew members have informed the Cruise Law News blog that a crew member has died on the Scarlet Lady cruise ship which is operated by Virgin Voyages. India : 46 more seafarers from Goa to arrive today - Oherald Forty-six Goan seafarers out of 79 Indians landed at Mumbai airport on Friday morning, after spending nearly 50 days in a hotel in South Africa. The Goan seafarers will arrive in Goa by road on Saturday morning, and will be subsequently tested for COVID-19.
Goan Seamen Association of India (GSAI) said the seafarers were stranded after disembarking from MSC cruises ship MSC Orchestra in Durban. The Indians flew on South African airlines from Johannesburg, which landed in Mumbai after a stopover in Delhi.
"The South African airline was a special flight that came to India to take its citizens. The seafarers were in constant touch with us to bring them back to Goa. Out of the 79 Indian seafarers, 46 are Goans and are on their way to Goa via road," GSIA president Dixon Vaz told Herald.Posted On:23-May-2020

9 Georgian sailors kidnapped in Nigeria released- Agenda.ge Nine Georgian sailors who have been kidnapped by pirates from a ship flying the Panamese flag in Nigeria have been released and will return to their homeland in several days.
Tamar Ioseliani, head of the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia, said that a special flight will be carried out to bring the sailors back home.
