Wan Hai Lines Honored as Best Green Shipping Line
Wan Hai Lines won the prestigious award "Best Green Shipping Line" by Asia Cargo News at the 2016 Asian Freight Logistics and Supply Chain Awards. The award ceremony held in Peace Hotel in Shanghai on June 14 was attended by representatives of Asian and international companies in the shipping, transportation and logistics sectors.
The criteria for the award included compliance with national and global environmental regulations and standards, adequate investment in new environmental technologies, and measures to reduce fuel consumption.
Wan Hai indicates that the company abide by relevant environmental regulations as well as policies and guidelines stipulated by ISO014001 (environmental management system), OHSAS18001 (occupational health and safety management system), MARPOL (International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships) and ISM Code (International Safety Management). Moreover, the company has established appropriate environmental management systems based on the characteristics of maritime transport. This award signifies Wan Hai's efforts to achieve sustainable environmental goal.
