G E Shipping takes delivery of a new building Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier "Jag Ajay"
The Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd (G E Shipping) took delivery of a new building Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier "Jag Ajay" (approx 82000 dwt). The vessel was ordered by GE Shipping in December 2013 and has been built at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., P.R. China.
With the inclusion of this vessel, the company's current fleet stands at 33 vessels, comprising 23 tankers (7 crude carriers, 14 product tankers, 2 LPG carrier) and 10 dry bulk carriers (5 Kamsarmax, 5 Supramax) with an average age of 9.97 years aggregating 2.48 mn dwt.
Shares of GREAT EASTERN SHIPPING CO.LTD. was last trading in BSE at Rs.313 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 311.4. The total number of shares traded during the day was 16100 in over 800 trades.
The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 318.5 and intraday low of 310. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 5062234.

Keep calm and carry on for the UK shipping sector
Chief Executive Guy Platten blogs on the week after the UK voted to leave the EU.
The dust is settling on the European Referendum and I've been speaking to people across our membership to discuss the outcome and our next steps.
What is clear from my conversations, and discussions at our Board earlier this week, is that the shipping industry needs to do what it always has done - keep calm and carry on.
Fundamentally, and for the time being, nothing has changed. There is uncertainty, yes, but the years of experience and expertise our industry means that we do not undertake kneejerk reactions. It's a mature response, but more importantly, it's the right one.
As I have said in a series of media interviews this week, the UK was a great maritime nation, dependent on shipping last week. And it is a great maritime nation dependent on shipping today. So many of those factors that have made the UK such a great place to do business in the past are the same today - from our highly skilled workforce to our world-renowned business services sector.
We talk often about how shipping moves 95% of the UK's international trade, and the figure for global trade is broadly the same. What that means from a policy perspective is that we are a pro-free trade industry. Unashamedly, categorically pro-free trade.
The UK's negotiating position with the European Union will in my view be strong, and I've been heartened this week by reports that numerous countries, including major economies such as India, have already approached the UK regarding future trade deals. There is opportunity here.
Business thrives on certainty. But it also thrives on opportunity and, yes, to some degree risk. In the absence of short term certainty, perhaps we can begin to look at what new opportunities will emerge - not least, the opportunity to reclaim centre stage at the IMO and once again drive the future agenda.
The opportunities ahead will now form a key part of our strategy ahead. As I said to the Shipping Minister earlier this week, the expertise of the UK Chamber is entirely at government's disposal. We will work together to minimise risk and enhance opportunity.
And we have today begun working on a new manifesto - to be launched later this year. The manifesto will set out in clear terms what policies the new government should implement - and as you might expect, it will be unashamedly pro-free trade and pro-immigration. But moreover, it will be ambitious. Brexit, for all the concerns and worries, provides us with an unprecedented lobbying opportunity. Government's minds will never be more open, they will never be more willing to listen than in the next few months.
It is an opportunity we will be taking. But now more than ever we must work as a team, across the whole industry. The chamber's resources are always at the disposal of our members, and we will help in any way we can as you begin to consider the impact and opportunities of Brexit. For the good of the industry as a whole, and indeed for the country, as the headline suggests, we will keep calm and carry on.
