Philippines : Marina issues new procedures on crew changes, repatriation of seafarers.
The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina), under the guidance of the Department of Transportation (DoTr), recently issued detailed procedures and health and safety protocols on the repatriation of Filipino seafarers and the conduct of crew changes in the country's domestic and international ports.
These cover the following: Filipino seafarers joining a ship docked in the Philippines or overseas (outbound); Filipino seafarers leaving a ship (inbound); special procedures for Filipino seafarers leaving a cruise ship docked in Philippine seaports; Filipino seafarers transiting in the Philippines (airport/terminal to airport/terminal).Posted On:5-Aug-2020

Beirut port explosion in close proximity.
A powerful explosion occurred in Beirut port area on Aug 4, killing and injuring dozens of people, and causing widespread damage. As of evening Aug 4, there s no clarity with regards to the cause of explosion/explosions, and what triggered it. LPG tanker engine room fire, Antwerp.
Fire erupted in engine room of a PLG tanker MORITZ SCHULTE, berthed in Atwerp at Industrial Dock, ESSO Refinery, in the morning Aug 4. ESSO and city fire engines responded, fire was extinguished, one person treated for smoke inhalation. No news on damages yet. Tanker arrived at Antwerp on Aug 2 from the UK.

Macao : Tougher measures for Hong Kong-Macao cargo ship crew members.
Addressing Monday s press conference about Macao s novel coronavirus situation, the Health Bureau s (SSM) Control of Communicable Diseases and Surveillance of Diseases Department Coordinator Leong Iek Hou announced that the Macao government has now implemented tougher measures for crew members of cargo ships plying the Hong Kong-Macao route.Posted On:5-Aug-2020

How they change the crew of bulk carrier in Australia.
Two incidents with two bulk carriers occurred in Australia recently, with all usual stuff - "underpayment", ITF, Maritime Union of Australia MUA, AMSA and biased media. I will skip "underpayment" part of the story, and with that, the first incident, in which AMSA has banned bulk carrier TW HAMBURG from Australian ports for 12 months. As well, I won t go into underpayment part of another story, involving bulk carrier UNISON JASPER. There s absolutely no meaning, no sense, in writing about "underpayment" cases, as long as they are instigated by ITF and its’ minions. At least 45 people from Hurtigruten cruise test positive for COVID-19.
At least 45 people who were aboard Hurtigruten s MS Roald Amundsen cruise ship have tested positive for COVID-19.
Thirty-six crew members have tested positive for COVID-19, according to Oystein Knoph, spokesperson for Hurtigruten. Nine passengers have also tested positive for COVID-19 since it became clear that there was an outbreak on board, according to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.
