APM Terminals sets all-time volume records in Brazil
Despite the pandemic, APM Terminals Pecém, in Ceara, has set two consecutive records this year with a best-ever September performance of 41,000 TEUs followed by a record-breaking October result of 46,705 TEUs. For the first 10 months, the Pecém Terminal reports 309,051 TEUs, a 7.9% increase on 2019.

NOVATEK Completes First Ship-to-Ship LNG Transshipment in the Murmansk Region
PAO NOVATEK ("NOVATEK" and/or the "Company") announced yesterday that NOVATEK-Western Arctic, a wholly owned subsidiary, completed Russia’s first ship-to-ship LNG transshipment in the Kildin Strait of the Barents Sea. The Arc7 ice-class LNG tanker "Nikolay Yevgenov" successfully reloaded an LNG cargo delivered from the Yamal LNG facility at Sabetta to the conventional tanker "Yamal Spirit".

Greek shipowners call for vaccine priority for seafarers.
During this extraordinary global health crisis, the UGS said seafarers remain faithful to their duty to supply the citizens of the world with essential goods, energy, food, medicines and medical equipment.
"They do so with professionalism, facing tremendous difficulties and personal sacrifices. It is therefore, absolutely necessary that their indispensable role and pressing needs are recognized, even with delay, and catered for by the international community," said the Greek owners body.

Crew unhappiness widespread amid COVID-19.
Crew responding to the LR survey have reported feeling unhappy, worry about things they cannot control and do not feel well rested.
Twenty-seven percent of survey respondents indicated poor management of workload and fatigue in their teams and not being able to get a good quality of sleep.

96 Safety Flaws With Mauritius Oil Spill Ship Wakashio Identified By EU Database.
It appears the Wakashio was a particularly faulty ship. A detailed assessment thorough a recently established EU shipping database has revealed almost 100 critical safety violations with the Japanese Bulk Carrier.
The Wakashio ran aground on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius in August, spilling almost 300,000 gallons of heavy ship fuel oil along the coral reef coastline.

Canadas largest, most complex marine crane unveiled in Chester.
Chester based Hawboldt Industries has unveiled the countrys most advanced marine crane.
The HAW66-300K is believed to be the largest, most complex marine crane ever built in Canada. The HAW66-300K will be installed on the CCGS Vincent Massey.
"This is a milestone moment for our company, for Nova Scotia, and for the country," said Hawboldt s general manager Dylan Wells in a news release.

Aframax crude oil tanker hit by blast, allegedly attacked, Saudi Arabia
Aframax crude oil tanker AGRARI on Nov 25 was reportedly hit by a blast and suffered hull breach above waterline in Red sea at Al Shuqaiq, Saudi Arabia, while being at anchor or moored at terminal. Crew are safe. Reports say it was allegedly, a mine blast. Ships AIS is off during last 43 hours, as of 1440 UTC Nov 25. No other information available at the moment.

Troubled freighter anchored in Dardanelles
General cargo ship HIMALAYA suffered engine failure and started to drift in western Dardanelles at around 2100 UTC Nov 24, while transiting Straits in western direction, en route from Istanbul to Larnaca Cyprus. The ship was taken on tow by Canakkale Vessels Traffic Control tug, and towed to Kumkale anchorage. As of 1400 UTC Nov 25, HIMALAYA remained anchored.

General cargo ship aground in Randers Fjord, Denmark
General cargo ship HOOP loaded with bulk cargo ran aground near Uggelhuse in Randers Fjord, Central Denmark, Jutland peninsula, at around 0740 UTC Nov 25, while proceeding to Randers. Reportedly, HOOP ran aground while trying to pass another ship. As of 1520 UTC, she was still aground with no tugs in sight, probably waiting for high water, in the evening Nov 25 or in the morning Nov 26.

Tanker contacted embankment in Hamburg, seriously damaged
Product tanker NORTHSEA RATIONAL in load contacted embankment in Neumuelen, Hamburg, in the morning Nov 25, while maneuvering to berth. Tanker sustained serious damages to starboard bow, cause of accident yet unknown. She was berthed after accident, and as of evening Nov 25, remained, berthed. There was no hull breach in cargo tanks area, no cargo loss reported.
