ICE launches WIM LNG futures contracts, to reflect cargoes at Indian ports. |
Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) has launched West India Marker (WIM) liquified natural gas (LNG) futures contracts. WIM will reflect the cargos delivered at Indian and West Asian ports.
The financially settled futures contract, ICE said, will settle against the S&P Global Platts daily assessment price for the WIM for spot physical LNG cargoes delivered at ports in India, Dubai and Kuwait.

Loader Accident in Port of Long Beach Hospitalizes Pickup Truck Driver |
Rescue teams responded to the scene of a horrific accident at the Port of Long Beach on December 9 as one of the container loaders drove over a pickup truck pinning the driver inside. The Long Beach Fire Department's Urban Search and Rescue Task Force arrived at the terminal to find the stacker on top of a pickup truck.
A spokesperson for the fire department said that the call came in around 8 pm last evening.

Phillipines: Manning agency defends quarantine of seafarers |
An official of a manning agency, accused of holding over 400 seafarers in hotels within the city for about two months, said it was merely following government policies introduced during the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
In a phone interview on Tuesday, Miguel Rocha, CF Sharp Crew Management Inc. president and chief executive officer, said that aside from complying with government-mandated requirements, some seafarers who began staying in hotels at the end of October were further delayed by typhoons, Covid-19 infections among the crew, and other mitigating issues.

Seafarer Announces Discovery of Historic Period Shipwreck Material |
Seafarer Exploration Corp. is announcing that we have discovered a large concentration of colonial era shipwreck material in Area 2 off Melbourne Beach, Florida. The historic period shipwreck material comprises a variety of artifacts situated within a concentrated area and includes standing rigging, ships fittings, rope and wood fragments. The historic artifact area is still under investigation and could either be part of the historic material previously found over the past few years or a second historic shipwreck entirely.

IMO urges key worker designation for seafarers, end plight of 400,000 stranded |
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has urged governments to designate seafarers as key workers so the estimated 400,000 stranded on ships can return home.
On Human Rights Day, the IMO said on Thursday the fundamental rights of seafarers are not being met as travel restrictions implemented during the pandemic have kept many stranded beyond the end of their contracts.

Seven contractors were left wounded after a fire and explosion occurred at a crude oil repository tank in Corpus Christi, Texas on 5 Dec 2020.
The fire reportedly occurred at around 10:00 local time at the Magellan Midstream Partners facility in a tank that was being cleaned and inspected.
