Coles quits Wallem and plans new role as seafarers champion Hong Kong-based ship operator Wallem Group has announced that Chief Executive Frank Coles has resigned and will be leaving the Wallem Group shortly.

Singapore: 37,000 employees in aviation, maritime sectors to be vaccinated About 13,000 workers have registered to get their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine this week and the exercise is set to be completed within two months, Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung said during a visit to the vaccination centre at Changi Airport Terminal 4.

Bulk carrier contacted ro-ro on Weser Bulk carrier PRETTY UNIVERSE contacted ro-ro cargo BALTICBORG on Weser in the evening Jan 17 while proceeding in opposite direction, most probably because of suction effect. BALTICBORG sustained 30-meter long dent, while PRETTY UNIVERSE suffered dent in bow area. Troubled reefer shelter in northern Luzon waters, Philippines Reefer KENTA MARU developed heavy starboard list, being caught in rough weather in Balintang Channel, north of northermost Luzon, Philippines, and sheltered in Cagayan waters, northeast Philippines, Philippines Coast Guard said. The ship was allowed to anvhor off Santa Ana, Cagayan. She s en route from Kaouhsiung Taiwan to Majuro Atoll, Marshall Islands. Offshore supply tug sank in Sulu sea, northeast Borneo Offshore supply tug MERMAID CHALLENGER sank off Segama, Lahad Datu, northeast Borneo, Malaysia, in the evening Jan 17, while en route to offshore deployment with some cargo on board, 7 crew abandoned sinking ship on a lifera ft and later were rescued by Royal Malaysian Navy, no injures reported. Ghost ship beached on Penghu islands coast, Taiwan Strait. Derelict cargo ship was found beached on the northern coast of Xijiyu Island, South Penghu Marine National Park, Taiwan, Taiwan Strait, in the morning Jan 18. Antarctic supply expedition delayed by fire Argentine Navy supply cargo ship ARA CANAL BEAGLE was about to set sail for Antarctica expedition to deliver supplies to research stations, but voyage had to be delayed after Jan 13 fire. Fire occurred in an officer s cabin and spread to another cabing used as a storeroom for mattresses and other ship’s supplies.
